My equine buddy since 2003, Rapport died on December 28 2016. He was born on April 12 1995.
He had a great life and was still quite active right up until his last days.
After finishing 3rd in the Ontario Horse Trials Association rankings in 2010 for the Training Senior division, we let him have a well-deserved break from intensive competition. He took on a new role of teaching new riders, including jumping and some cross-country. He would go on trail rides with people who had never ridden a horse before and he'd take care of them. Rapport was quite possibly the safest horse on the planet. A gentle giant!
Rapport had jumped 5'0" (1.52 m.) in the past, and had trained in dressage at quite a high level.
